I understand that natural huperzine is 3x stronger than synthetic. But how do I know if the product I'm buying is natural or synthetic?

Thanks!

There is only one brand that says "L-Huperzine A" and that's from Unique Nutrition. Surely, they don't have the only natural Hup? The others I've seen say Huperzine A but don't have the "L". UN is the only place where it says that.

I assume if it says its Huperzia serrata leaf standardized extract
like on my Source Natural's bottle its the natural pure isomer and
not a synthetic racemic mixture. Also the pills I have look brown
or with brownish dark material. Like some resinous impure plant extract. With a herbal odor to. Though it would be easy to fake
that. Reminds me many years ago I used Ginsana and would chew
the gel caps up and could taste test the extract. But they started adding green bitter chlorophyll to the gel-caps. I guess to make
taste and spectrometric examination of the product more difficult. Which might have been when there product sales reached the inflection point so they decided to maximize profits with a less potent cheap extract. Anyway any slim-ball things you have heard
about big pharmaceutical companies equally applies to the
supplement industry.

This from a newbie? The L form is the natural form. I'm sure lot of companies add DL huperzine a to Huperzia serrata extract it's far cheaper. Companies state L-Lysine only if it's pure L-Lysine if they just said Lysine it could be half D. Anyway I use it and i like it.
