If you had the option of your own highly customized designer child, what mods would you spend your hard earned money on? And if you had multiple children, would you try to diversify and have kids who were each very different in their talents and abilities? Just how much money would you be willing to spend to give your child an edge? Would you mortgage your home? Will the decision of future parents to buy the right gene mods for their children, be the equivalent of today's parents who save up for their kids college educations?

I'm assuming i would have a boy. I chose extreme longevity, natural born leader (would trade that for very good looks if it was a girl), and very high intelligence and superior memory.


If i could add one more quality, it would probably be "no need for sleep" (unless the boy was bound to be an ugly creature then i would choose looks but basing it on my looks, and most of my family's looks, humility apart, the chances of an ugly boy would be slim). I don't see many practical uses for the ability of flying (worse if the person had wings), other than a very relaxing and fun activity and a big show off.




But hey i don't care about this since i don't plan on having kids. If we could change ourselves then it would be nice. We need to get the technology going and the retrogrades out of our way. Time is running fast and it doesn't wait for generations of closed minded people barring technology as much as they can to die.

There is no such thing as a born leader. Apart from that I think everyone will choose the same things you choose. But seriously. You should reconsider your opinion on wings.

Nah wings sucks... if i could fly i wouldn't want wings. Of course that blonde there i don't mind if she has wings, but for most people it wouldn't look very attractice...


ANd by "born leader", i understood it as someone who has leading habilities, like a high emotional EQ, and other interpersonal skills needed for someone to be considered a "born leader".

I'm up for that. But I'd want to keep the ability to sleep if I chose to. Could be nice to sign off every once in a while.

I'd be very wary of 'no need for sleep'. The relationship between the brain and sleep is not that well understood, and removing the need for sleep would be very risky. Besides, imagine taking care of a baby that would cry 24 hours a day...
