Anyone read this book, I just started it.

One of the premises in this book is that Consciousness is a coherent vibration that's widespread in the brain, aka a Bose-Einstein Condensate.

This is an intriguing idea, has it been studied further ?

That book looks great but I am wary of reading material on this (and related) subject(s) that is not up to date (< 10 years) as the rate of progress and new findings is happening so fast now. I don't think it applies to everything (I am midway through The Selfish Gene), and mostly this is based on me being a student and having very little free time for non-academic reading ATM, but what do you think?

I wouldn't be surprised if the underpinnings of Consciousness is explained by a quantum process like Bose-Einstein Condensates. An idea that was probably laughable not long ago! Two recent things I have read Nature's hot green quantum computers revealed and Quantum Mechanics Explains How Muscle Produces Force make me think we are in line for some crazy ideas to come to light! Maybe they need to start doing a Quantum Mechanics 101 in Biology courses...

Hi there,

I did not see happening anything interesting in theory of consciousness for a very long time. My personal understanding is that the biochemistry and the quantum physics are quite explosivelly developing areas, however an unified theory of consciousness to explain from brain to mind is far from even being put on the table.

I'll read that book in the nearest future
