So far the pramipexole has only diminished my sex drive if anything, which I hardly thought possible as low as it's been.

I think I'll kill two birds with one stone here rather than create another thread. My libido and penile sensitivity have been at zero for a few years now and nothing has improved it. I've tried testosterone, clomiphene, bupropion, selegiline, phenethylamine, mirtazapine, nefazodone, tianeptine, lamotrigine, agomelatine, ropinirole, cabergoline, yohimbine, naltrexone, tyrosine, phenylalanine, zinc, magnesium, b1, b12, vitamin a, iron, and large doses of vitamin c to no avail whatever. I am 24 years-old at a weight of 150 lbs and height of 6'0". I possibly have a few vitamin deficiencies and hypervitaminoses. I have PTSD, BDD, MDD, purely obsessional OCD, avoidant pd, and
dependent pd. I am under enormous amount of stress and have no control over the conditions causing that stress. There are so many things pushing me to the brink and this issue with my libido is going to be the straw that broke he camel's back. Does any of you have any recommendations?

I am using a phone here so I can't edit my original post to remove typos and complete the title of the thread which was cut off.

That last word beginning with m was supposed to read 'manifest' followed by a ?

'Tongkat Ali'. Get the source naturals brand. Try taking 2 in the morning on empty stomach and then 2 in the afternoon on empty stomach if possible. Add in 400mg of SAM-E from a reputable company (I've had the best effects from LEF and from the tablets they sell at IAS).

Drop the mirapex and give the above five days before you make any judgements. Don't be surprised if you feel something sooner.

Doesn't tongkat ali exert it's libidinous effect by increasing testosterone and sam by increasing epinephrine levels? I do appreciate you taking the time to make suggestions, but I've already used potent androgens and adrenergics.

I forgot to mention that I've also tried various aromatase inhibitors and amphetaminergics, including dextroamphetamine.

At this point I'm thinking I'll have to use something rather exotic and not more-or-less directly monoaminergic.

I have tried a lot of what you have tried. tongkat ali has been hands down the most potent and reliable.but it has to be a reputable brand and extract. do it or not - up to you.

So pramipexole never worked for you at all? And neither testosterone, but tongkat ali did? That's certainly a very unexpected result. I'm willing to give tongkat ali another try; I never did use the brand which you recommend.

I have tried bromo and dostinex. Dostinex strangely seemed to dampen my libido. Bromo had ok results the first time I used it but then nothing much in the libido dept. after that. My training partner's used various forms of test in the past and he got on the tongkat bandwagon with me later and agrees that for him it was far more potent for libido (NOT strength gains). Selegiline - some initially then nothing. And the list goes on. Like I said - source naturals tongkat ali - 160mg twice a day. Give it 5 days then decide. Been using it without fail for over five years. If I feel it diminishing I cycle off for a couple weeks.

SAM-E. I don't know its mechanism of action as far as libido goes and don't really care - all I know is that it heightens libido for me immensely in conjunction with the tongkat - I'm not interested in mechanism as long as I'm getting results and its not harmful.

and yes I've used tyrosine, dlpa, zinc, zma, mucuna, bupropion, trib, maca, arimidex etc etc

only other thing that enhances for me WHEN COMBINED with tongkat is trib and mucuna. Mucuna also makes me depressed if I take it regularly - very sensitive to its effects.

edit - if the SAM-E doesn't agree with you you can drop it - lessen the dosage - or use every couple days - tongkat is enough by itself

Mechanism of action is an important consideration for me because of all my mental disorders. The aetiopathologies of depression, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia all involve a downregulation of a few certain genes through hypermethylation. S-adenosylmethionine can contribute a methyl group. (SAM and the essential amino acid methionine were both shown to be able to aggravate schizophrenia.) Additionally, since PTSD involves an excess of adrenergic neurotransmission, SAM could have some pretty pernicious results for me being that it increases adrenaline levels. I constantly am experiencing an adrenal rush - can always feel that adrenaline burning its way up my adrenal glands into my brain; i have hypertension and tachycardia as a result.

Edit: I'll definitely try the tongkat again, though.

hmmm you may want to give bromo a shot - it is similar to mirapex tho . you mentioned adrenalin levels - I've noticed bromo has a very positive effect for me in that regard - I take 2.5mg before bed and the next day I don't get that jittery on edge constant fight or flight feeling - provided it doesn't interfere with your other disorders (mostly the tachy - as mirapex would have similar dopamine effects minus the potential heart probs)
Although you mention that you've used bupropion and amphetamine - I can't see sam-e competing with either of those in the adrenal rush dept - more so the bup.

According to the excellent accounts in the pramipexole thread on mind & muscle, the pro-sexual effects should be acute and immediately apparent, and tolerance to them builds somewhat quickly. I think they recommended a fairly low dose for this application, something like 0.25-0.5mg.

watermelon contains citruline.....similar to viagra for me.
tomatoes contain lycopene
eat lots of zinc, maybe oysters,
and also try my special recipe, for increased fertility and sexual health:

a salad containing salmon, asparagus, mussels, tomatoes, garlic
then a desert with berries and cream sprinkled with nutmeg, ginger
then a fruit juice using watermelon and strawberry
glass of white wine

maybe end with some coffee and chocolate
