Just tried my first 200mg of Modalert and so far I am pretty impressed. It eliminates my CFS symptons and I am enjoying its subtle buzz.

I am also based in the UK so getting hold of amphetamines can be very difficult. I have tried going to the doctor previously outlining my symptons and hoping that he'd see they fit in line with what ADHD apparantly is but he always steers me back into thinking that my issues are more geared towards a depressive disorder. I don't disagree with him, depression is definitely the bane of my existence and has been for the past 14yrs. I suspect my real issues stem from my CFS with depression and ADHD being mere symptons of this condition. Not being able to focus and hold my attenton does cause depression in itself though, maybe I just need to keep looking for a more understanding doctor.


I find it interesting that Modalert has had this positive impact on me. Is there anyone here who takes this stuff everyday? I can appreciate that chronic daily use isn't going to be beneficial so I was planning on doing a cycle. I would probably add in Piracetam on the days off that I don't take it (I used to get great success with Piracetam but it hardly has any effect on me now apart from motivating me).

Yes, Modafinil does improve my concentration.  It definitely promotes wakefulness and alertness for me as well.

I suffer from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and this works well for me.  Instead of being listless, unmotivated and having trouble concentrating, I now have the ability to keep up with the demands of life.  Most days I only take 50 mg. and this works fine.  On my bad days I will need anywhere between 100 mg - 150 mg.  I prefer the Modalert brand, but I also have tried Modapro and think this brand is good too.

It does help me stay awake during the day.  Before using Modafinil I would constantly be yawning with the urge to want to go to sleep.  I just make sure that I take my dosage in the morning hours.  If taken too late in the day, then falling asleep can be difficult, but not impossible.  I would suggest starting at the lowest dose, 50 mg., and see how it goes from there.  

I try not to take it every day.  First off it is expensive.  Secondly, I do not want to build up any tolerance to it.  I would like to stay at the lowest effective dose possible, preventing going higher and higher in dosage because of daily usage.  On days off, I will try my other supps/meds such as Sulbutiamine, Deprenyl, caffeine pills, etc.  Hope this helps!

Hey dude thanks for the feedback

I am going to try lower dosages and see if that makes a difference. I am a bit skeptical though as (although I am a very deep sleeper) anything that messes with my sleep usually has serious complications. Basically sleep comes first. It doesn't matter how good a drug is, it is utlerly pointless and counterproductive  if I can't sleep.

I really hope 50mg yields the same benefical effects and has some saving grace for my sleep. If it's still problematic it'll have to go.

I have justed started using Modalert. It is good prior to taking it I was already up for 24hrs it kept me up till 48hrs or so. I wasnt hungry at all for the whole day had only one meal that day.. Took about 400mg with 6hrs gap each. Didnt know what to expect. Doesnt help that much with concentration probably will improve over time. Just keeps you awake and your brain does come up with creative and productive ideas. I personally guarantee that. I will tell you about its effects with continued use shortly.

I'm really surprised at the lack of concern for SJS and TEN. Are people not reading up on Modafinil or are they thinking it is so rare that it is not a serious concern?

I took my first dose of modafinil today - 100mg around 7hrs ago.

After approx. 30mins, I started to feel stimulated and noticed greater concentration and focus. I've felt a little strange socially and a little anxious. I put this down to the overstimulation and I suspect 50mg would be more fitting. The brain fog was still present at times today, however I noticed periods of increased 'flow' and my thoughts seemed more productive. I seem to have been less caught in the repetitive thoughts / 'stuck mind' state I often have

I'm still pretty much bouncing off the walls 7hrs on - it had had an extremely noticeable stimulating effect, more than I had anticipated.

The SJS stuff is a little concerning and after doing some google searching, is not really what I want to hear in my modifinil induced anxiety / overstimulation - and I'm a bit of a hypochondriac!!! I am aware these things get WAY overblown due to the natural human tendency towards paranoia (+ internet!). Is there any rational basis for concern in comparison to the risk of me getting run over on the way home?!

I just noticed that I was extremely focused and quick in writing this post. Definitely an effect from the modafinil. Wow

Would anyone located in the UK (or Europe in general) be willing to order Modalert from Sun Pharma for me? I've discovered that ordering Modafinil to Norway is a nut case, since as good as no online sources does it. The few that does it charges ridiculous amounts of money. Please? I'll give you a good bonus fee for doing it.

Only mildly. Also felt a bit anxious and was unable to sleep, which led to some mild psychotic episodes. For me d-amp is much better for the concentration and to get things done. Or a very low dose methylphenidate.

It did for about 3 months then started having the opposite effect...even after stopping it i still am unable to focus at work

Hello, this is my first post. I am a moderately experienced nootropic user.  Daily cannabis smoker,  currently perscribed Zyban and Modafinil. 20 years old 5'8 130 lbs.

I find modafinil allows for moderate concentration boost,  is much more effective at lower doses for increased executive functions and focus. Higher amounts to fight off sleep deprivation as high as 800mg daily for zero hours sleep. I would recommend 25-50mg for focus. Also the drug is clinically more effective after 3days consecutive use. For those whom haven't experienced the full effects.  I have used modafinil for 3 years by perscription. I've recently started a course of zyban which I significantly reduce my modafinil intake since I feel the zyban potentiates the modafinil. So I reduced it to half dose to 100mg. The zyban treatment is for smoking cessation.  (Althought it does help with focus, deppression and anxiety) No real negative side effects,  but you have to be careful of sleep deprivation. Which can be tempting if you have the need to be productive. One good thing about modafinil is that accumalative sleep deprivation can dissapesr or one or 2 nights of 10 hours sleep max.
