Concerning dna dmg over the years , i thought of this.
If i would i be able to track blood i volenteered 15 yrs ago unused , for an operation that didnt happen , and replace that younger blood of me with some of the older fresh that runs in me , in the usual quantities it is collected on alike occassions , couldnt it create some pretty ground of anti-agining possibilities ?
Do u think there is any point in trying 2do it or useless ? Would it need a higher quantity ? All of it ? Or wouldnt work at all ?
thnx in advance

ps: sorry but this is the only place i could start a topic, i couldnt on ideas section , sry 4the net argo.

If properly setup this could be a useful experiment, though it is widely agreed upon that younger blood is better than older blood. What sort of blood donation was it? Mobilized peripheral blood? bone marrow? Just RBCs?

User stemcellbackup just posted a notice here about his commercial blood cell banking service. As Longecity doesn't allow commercial postings in the forums, I moved the post to Supplements/Retailer and Product Discussion. Although the company is called "Stem Cell Backup", it looks like they store ordinary blood cells for later possible use as induced pluripotent stem cells. This would of course hinge on the availability of such technology in a clinical setting, not a guaranteed outcome.

yorwos, I think, that the theoretical bases of your topic are not very powerful.

First:
The blood taken in young age, that You stored, is in too short supply to replace Your entire blood at Your current age. The changes that it will make will be suppressed from the majority of the blood from Your current age.

Second:
If some changes must be expected, they probbably will not be connected with the cellular composition of the blood. This is because the life of the red blood cells, the white blood cells and the thrombocites is very short, and Your blood cells actually renew quite often. So, Your blood at Your current age is not actually old in terms of cellular elements - the blood cells in it are born maximum a mounth ago.

Third:
In the past there has been a thinking, that haemotransfusion from young people will mend old people, and many transfusions have been done. The result has been only increased mortality from unapropriate blood transfusion :)

Fourth:
Blood transfusion is practiced today as a doping for sportists. But the effect of that is short in time and sportists who practice it age too and some of them are not even longevists

Fifth:
Blood transfusion is being practiced from the medicine today and it was leading to logevity or immortality it should be already spoted.

Like Kelsey is saying, it looks like it would make for an interesting experiment. Though like Seivtcho is saying, it doesnt seem like it could produce very practical results.

However, as niner is saying, Stem Cell Backup does seem like a related enough concept. If you would yorwos, could you look into Stem Cell Backup, figure out what they offer, where they are going with their concept there, and what we may or may not be able to do to involve ourselves? Maybe there is something we could fund, an opportunity for Members here, investment opportunity, there are quite a few possibilities.

We are already in the process of seeing about bringing them on board as a sponsor, but there may be more there for a symbiotic relationship.
