Hello all. I wonder how many of You have a medical background, and in which field?
If someone has, then his/her oppinion about certain topic should be considered more valuable.
If You have a medical background, please say it in this topic. Thank You.

I am a dentist and a maxillo-facial surgeon.

Thanks seivtcho. I know of several doctors, dentists, EMTs and the like who have been part of LongeCity. I'm a pharmaceutical chemist.

That's nice. Then I suppse, that Your answers, concerning poduction and/or usage of drus will be more valuable, than other oppinions.
I have seen advertisements of many antiaging therapies, includng antioxidant, vtamines, supplement pills, growth hormone therapies. Maybe many more exist. What is Your oppinion of them? Do You know about articles, or serious scientific works that show, that these medications actually elongate life and/or stop or slow the aring process?
Thank You.

I just graduated medical school and I'm starting residency soon. I consider myself to be a total newbie when it comes to most topics here. Most people here can probably school me. :-D

I will admit that the years I've spent reading longecity have given me a definite advantadge over my classmates.

P.S.
Lufega, You think, that You know a little about the process of aging, but You know more, than You think. You may provide quality answers, concerning age - related diseases, like atherosclerosis and cancer, which after all is the most important. I suppose, that also You have been learning gerontology as a discipline.

I'm an emergency department technician, and I'm also in nursing school. Not super-useful for life extension in industrialized nations, but I do know a lot about treating the ailments that tended to kill our hunter-gatherer ancestors (injury, infection).

It's good to know who has medical credentials. I think we are lucky to have scientists and medical people here.
