For news, I'd recommend Democracy Now or the Nation magazine. I don't agree with everything in the Nation but it is independent.
I'd recommend Dr. Leonard Coldwell's site for a critical take on the FDA, drug companies and more.
If you are interested in psychics, the Psychic Twins have a number of accurate predictions. They are not 100% but are worth looking at.
This site is the best place to discuss supplements and related issues.
One of the best places to buy reasonably priced kitchen stuff, and sheets, is thrift shops. You can't expect complete matching sets of stuff so pick some colors. You can't expect to necessarily find an exact thing you are looking for on one day. It's better to comb the store and pick up whatever is good that day. Think ahead about two years. Over time, if you find some good thrift shops, you will get much of what you need in kitchenware and sheets. Other good items to look for are women's accessories. Thrift stores may be open on Wednesdays and a half day on Saturdays. (Check for their schedules). Goodwill and the Salvation Army are probably open on regular business hours. Church and charity thrift stores may be run by elderly volunteers, so be patient. They can vary. It's probably worthwhile to search through a number of thrift stores to find a good one.
Banks--Don't so business with big national banks like Bank of America or Wells Fargo. Also, don't do business with Capital One. They are sleazy. The best banks are well-regarded local or regional banks. Credit unions are another option.
For material on the paranormal, mysteries, health freedoms, and alternative viewpoints, Coast to Coast Am radio has it's good points. The show is on nightly in most markets, on different stations. The content varies in quality, and there are twenty-two minutes of commercials each hour (starting at the top and bottom of the hour for about eleven minutes). Taping the show and listening to it later seems like a good idea. They might still have a service where you pay $6.00 a month and you can listen to shows anytime and supposedly fast-forward through, although that doesn't always work well. There are some striking shows mixed in with some less striking ones. They are not controlled by corporate media (although the main host inexplicably doesn't belileve in global warming) and things get through here that would never make it into the mainstream media.
