Am I the only person that really sees a problem with this in a modern society? I don't see black, white, yellow, green, purple, etc. when I look at a crowd of people. I simply see people.

Am I wrong for taking issue with black history month, hispanic heritage month, women's history month, pacific/islander luncheon's, or asian heritage week? Or any other of the silly, government sanctioned/sponsored celebrations of diversity? Why do we need this in a modern society?

In my opinion, all we are really doing is reinforcing the fact that people are different instead of promoting unity among -all- humans.
