So, I'm going to keep this post short and sweet since I've got a final at noon tomorrow and took a 3 gram dose of Aniracetam with some olive oil, about an hour ago. I am not feeling much other than the usual effects that come from Aniracetam, except the anxiolytic effect, and the beauty of music, is much more pronounced than it is at 750 mg doses (where I barely feel any noticeable anxiolytic effect since I have been taking it at 750mg doses for ~2 weeks). I am contemplating whether to take another 2-3 gram dose and going to bed to see if it makes any profound changes in clearheadedness and cognition when I wake up.

Anyway, has anyone experimented with equivalent or even higher doses? Have you had any noticeable effects other than the usual low doses, or is it just a good way to burn a hole in one's wallet?

I will update tomorrow morning on whether I wake up as a super-computer or as my normal self.

I ended up taking another 2g for a total of 5 grams of Aniracetam; it caused a bit of insomnia, but that may have been because I stayed up past the anxiolytic, sleeping-inducing effects of the first dose and took the second dose about 2 hours after, at midnight. I ended up falling asleep around 2am, however, it doesn't seem to have messed much with my quality of sleep other than at the end where I started tossing around, half waking, at 8am (it is now 10:30 as I am typing this, I awoke around 10).

After taking my second dose, I began to have slightly wavering vision, very similar to how psychedelics affect visual perception where it seemed that objects in my visual field would get slightly bigger as I inhaled and slightly smaller as I exhaled but it was not completely synchronous to my breathing rate (objects would sometimes become smaller split seconds before I began to exhale, and vice-versa). But this all may have been placebo since I've read some posts (as I was searching for experiences of high dose aniracetam, to my surprise, I found none!) on other forums of people having psychedelic-like perceptual anomalies after taking a standard 750mg dose.

I guess I'll start reviewing material to see if it has changed my reading speed or memory recall, but at this moment it seems to have not affected either one. Maybe taking high doses prior to sleep over several weeks or months will have some substantial effect on cognition since it has been purported that the brunt of Aniracetam's cognitive enhancing effects come from continuous usage over several months.

I'll keep this thread updated on whether I somehow have super memory recall during my exam, but I highly doubt this. I am going to take a 800 mg dose of Oxiracetam, along with another 500mg (or a gram if I feel like it) of Aniracetam, and maybe 150-300mg of Pramiracetam, as well as, a 50mg dose of sulbutiamine just prior to leaving (I am more certain that oxiracetam and sulbutiamine will have a much more substantial acute effect towards test taking and solving physics problems)

Wish me luck!! :-D

*Edit*
I am also going to take 1 gram of ALCAR, 3 grams of fish oil, 500mg of choline bitartrate/inositol and making a whey protein shake with a teaspoon of lecithin granules (just to fill you in on what else I'm taking). Surprisingly mixing standard doses of the 'racetams has not caused any anti-cognitive effects, so far. Although I have just received my oxiracetam yesterday and had not the time to use it with Prami. Oh well, we'll find out how it affects me (not too worried about the final since it's only introductory physics[damned prerequisites!!])

Any else have suggestions or experiences with taking high doses of Aniracetam? Any concerns towards toxicity or other problems?

I've taken another 2.5 gram dose and I'm feeling great! It seems like a really good way to chill out after an intense day, without throwing yourself into a hazy comatose. I might actually consider taking higher doses of aniracetam over smoking a bowl, much more calming and there's no apparent anxious thoughts or paranoia that sometimes happen with the herb.

Yeah a high dose reminded me of a psych; very simular.

Thanks for reminding me about this thread Medievil, probably wouldn't have updated it if you didn't leave a post.

Well, I've come to the conclussion that although a high dose of Aniracetam can be quite enjoyable in terms of it's calm, anxiolytic clear-headedness, it is unlikely to be producing any specific benefits at a single high dose. In regards to this, I've stopped experimenting with single high doses for the time being because I don't believe it is cost-effective to do so, and quite frankly it is a bit of a waste of Aniracetam to keep taking such high doses for extended periods of time when studies have provided evidence that Aniracetam provides profound cognitive improvements after 3-6 months at doses of ~1.5 grams per day. And since it seems that the greatest benefit would be from taking it for extended periods of time, when you only have a 180g tub you might as well make the most of it, rather than over-consuming something that could potentially cause side effects.

However, I may start up a proper log in a week or two that will last at least a week of me taking 2.5-5 grams a day in several divided doses (probably 750-1000 mg per dose) since I did enjoy the psychedelic-like visuals; and, who knows, Aniracetam, at high doses, may have some simliar effect as Pramiracetam in terms of improving photographic memory to the point where you remember everything you've done throughout the day.

What have you noticed from high doses? Any side-effects? As I previously posted, I noticed that high doses a couple hours before bed causes a fair bit of insomnia once the anxiolytic effects have worn off, but that's just the trade-off to the extreme clarity and focus provided by that dose.
