Hey everyone, just found this forum while looking for info on how to resensitize your dopamine receptors...

Why?

Well, after being addicted to porn for a year or 5 and without noticing falling into a total zombie state of mind I have stopped watching porn 1 year ago and even haven't had an orgasm for 6 months.

My daily symptoms are total cognitive disfunctioning (euh, euh, euh, euh, yeah shooooo, euh euh), massive brain fog and inflamation feeling across the body. Also penile shrinkage, premature ejaculation...

One way or another I can get through the day but when I have an orgasm or even watch, and this is for real, watch 5 minutes of porn without stimulation I am a total wreck the next day.

Also my symptoms have wild swings, from good to terrible, to reasonable, to ok, to zombie, to dead zombie...

Have been to 100 doctors, 50 endocrinologists, Voodoo doctors, have tried GABA, pregnenolone, all the amino acids, fish oil, zinc, Vitamine D, Vitamine B, etc etc etc.

The only thing that makes me feel a bit human the next day is drinking half a glass of wine, and I really can't make it through the day waking up early without having a nap.

After deduction these are basically the 2 things that could be wrong with me:

1: Post finasteride symptom. They have low 3-alfa-diol G and low vitamine D. So have I and we share the same symptoms. Never took finasteride though...

2: Overstimulation of my dopamine receptors, neurotransmittors by porn. Maybe my pituary is locked in a permanent sub standard functioning.

Nothing is indefinetly damaged, there are (very few) times I am 100%. But then I crash again. I am a car with no gas.

I know this might come off desperate but I am like this for close to 10 years now so appearances are not really that big of an issue anymore.

Either way, thanks anyone if you read this or cared to reply.

I am not looking for a magic pill but just having a clue what could be the issue would be a life saver.

Cheers.

Have you considered using a COMT or MAO inhibitor ?  Just as the years of watching porn increased your dopamine output, it probably upregulated some of these enzymes.

This sounds very serious In my opinion, and truth is, there are many diseases and pathologies yet to be discovered by scientist and doctors, I'm sure we will have many new variations of disorders to be recognized in the future,

to me it sounds a bit of a inflammatory problem, its interesting you said wine helps, well alcohol is a nmda antagonist

a couple list of supplements that you could look into: aniracetam, uridine, pqq, Nac, ala, lithium, magnesium, bacopa, noopept, curcumin, cats claw, boswelia, glycine

i actually recommend if you are serious about finding out what is going on you go seek a brain scan, by a neurologist and go to a clinic that specializes in sexual issues.

I have had a brain scan, and the neurologist said everything was fine. They also tested my cognitive performance, and it was ok as well. Which I could have told them myself. My cognitive performing is not broken but impaired.  Bye. I have had therapy for years, talking about how my childhood might be responsible for my problems. I was open for it, but really, it did nothing to my situation unfortunatly. I tried antidepresants and it just made the brain fog worse and did nothing possitive.

Thanks for the response anyways.

@Lufega:

Thank you for the response. I don't know any of those but will look in to it. An anti depresant and a parkinson medicine right...

seems a bit odd, i think you should get another brain scan, and another check by a different neurologist, at least if one didn't say something was wrong but you are still having this "problem" that you think you have, then maybe getting another check by a different neurologist would help. and you should probably show them this thread.

what would be interesting is if you got a scan while or after you looked at porn or when you are feeling the negative symptoms that you described, that would help to rule out what the source of the problem may be

and by the way what did you mean when you said Bye? i didn't get that really

I don't know where you live. Maybe some OTC medicines can help. Here sulbultiamine is very easy to obtain. It increases dopamine receptors.

Get your hormone levels checked.

You also start off your post assuming you know what the problem is, no offence this could skew the info you get back,by that i don't doubt your symptoms but maybe they're not dopamine related.

I had PFS at one point but that's completely in the past.

Ive had my hormone levels checked 20 times by the best in the country and they saw nothing wrong. All within range.

If I may ask you, how did you cure your pfs?

Well i'm sorry to hear of your predicament.  Time seemed to make it all go away, about a year.  I wouldn't say it was a complete crash because most of the time i was clear headed and had energy, but i just had no interest in women and no 'morning glory' so to speak, so it was physiological.  I've been taking allsorts of supplements over the years.  So it could have been anything.  I think going to the gym and taking zinc may have helped.  I've also supplemented vit D over the years completely but for general health reasons.

Just one more thing to add for a lot of people given the durations often involved with these things, when things do bounce back they might not be exactly the same, but it's hard to subjectively judge whether or not that's just ageing in general,

I have been advised before to take zinc, I have but not extensively. Maybe I should give it another try as with the vitamine D.

Jos - sorry to hear about this.  If i were you i would hightail it over to Dr John Crisler's forum - there are many people there who can help you understand what is going on.  Probably you should see Dr Crisler as soon as you can - he's the person i trust in this and is arguably the leading men's health guy.

I have had 3 seperate phone appointments with dr Crisler.

The first one he said, get your t3 tested, the last phonecall he said I don't know what I can do for you. So there I am...

I would like to add one very crucial symptom of mine.

I have to go and work at 4 in the morning. When I get back at 12 and I sleep for 1 hour or 2 my day is totally ruined. Massive brain fog. I am a zombie untill I go to sleep. It's like my body is telling me what are you doing up, I have shut down all your functions!

That is very very crucial really, that kickstart my body or brain can not make...

That is the centre of my problems imo but what is behind it...

Wait a second - do u mean u did a phone consultation?  U have to become a patient of his; you can't expect the man to diagnose in a vacuum.

My bloodwork is supposed to be in range with everything, BMI is more to the skinny side then to fat, my condition is bad I guess (partially because of my situation, I eat healthy, and do everything by bike as excersise + my job is physically intensive.

I live in Europe, he lives in the states. I don't have the financial means to go there and become a patient uninsured...

Okay, I see.  It would cost you around $1500 US - if you have ANY WAY of scraping that together, I'd do so.  Borrow, sell something inessential that's valuable, steal, whatever.  This is YOUR health and NO ONE ELSE is going to look out for it.  I don't want to scare you but you sound like you're in pretty bad shape.

If you absolutely cannot become his patient - I'd say the next best thing to becoming his patient is to find a doctor in Europe who does similar work.  Have you asked around the Crisler board to see if someone can recommend one?  There's got to be someone over there.  And once you've found your specialist - then, if need be, you can do a consultation with Crisler with your european doctor.

IMO, what you should not do is cast around for advice from amateurs on the internet for the next six months.  This is serious and seriously complicated stuff.
