Good news is that it's a reversible inhibitor.http://en.wikipedia....rase_inhibitors
It looks promising as a memory aid , but personally I plan to research more into it. I'm waiting until there's a longterm study on adverse effects and post effects after going off it. I can't afford to go off it and have a temporary degraded perception and attention during school.

It's not specifically China that is bad, but the fact that there is not an abundance of research from a variety of locations and institutions.

this is universally problematic when it comes to any supplement or even regular consumption of lets say as world wide popular things like coffee. the moment you stop one day, you will always have altered receptors in various places, at times all around your body causing "withdrawl" like symptoms. it can affect you negative no matter what something is considered safe when you end up using it for a really long time and your body adapts to it. this type of question about regular "antioxidant" consumption and problems after stopping should be posted in seperate thread and discussed. its so much more complicated than people can believe.

Compared to similar acting drugs, Huperzine A actually shows a higher degree of safety and tolerance. Some reported side effects include chest pain or tightness, rash, upset stomach, diarrhoea, vomiting, hyperactivity and vomiting. However, no serious side effects have been reported.

Looks like the research may be spreading. At least for sources that freely publish their full-text in Pubmed. 15 results including 10 from the USA compared to 3 from China.
