One of my friends' hands and nose are constantly cold (prob. not Raynaud's though, at least not primary), and every winter (Sweden) her hands get dry and the skin cracks, causing bleeding. What to do?

I'm thinking ginkgo, l-citrulline, K2 MK-4, BioSil, chelated magnesium, low dose iodine, more dietary fats etc. Suggestions?

Sounds serious. She should drink plenty of water. Being so severe, I wonder if it's a deficiency. Vitamin A deficiency can cause dry skin. Vitamin C is the major precursor to collagen synthesis. Both vitamins are mentioned here as possibly helping with dry skin. I would analyze her diet see if anything could be improved. Hyaluronic acid and/or Lipowheat are marketed as internal moisturizers.

Could be anxiety. When my anxiety is so bad my hands feel like ice for days on end, this coupled with winter has definitely resulted in my hands being severely dry (despite constant sweating), bad enough to cause cracks and bleeding.

I'd check for the presence of antinuklear antibodies (ANA blood test). No intention to cause panic but the first thing that came to my mind was scleroderma.

I know vit B2 and low iron can cause skin problems at winter such as angular cheilitis around the mouth. Low iron is a very common woman-problem.
