While the proliferation of list-based websites can be a bit annoying, it cannot be denied that list can be a fun way of engaging with a topic and just by their title are really good at catching a reader's attention.

Below, you can suggest any type of list as long as it has eight items.

e.g.

"The 8 most promising initiatives in life extension"

"8 early warning sings for breast cancer"

"The 8 most influential life extension skeptics"

"8 Nootropics that really work"

Attached File  LCacht.jpg   6.38KB   1 downloads

To be eligible, you only have to give the title and 3 of the 8 items, to give us an idea if we'd like to see the full list.

If that's the case we'll let you know via PM and make you an offer for posting the full list which could range from $20-$80 and/or ₮100-₮400.

Hi, here's a list I could definitely write about in detail:

Eight Reasons to Connect the Public with the Life Extension Movement

  1. to improve public health by causing people to accept treatments (public health)

  2. to improve quality of family/friend relationships due to less loss (social disruption)

  3. to reduce discrimination between LE-involved and non-LE-involved factions (social unrest)

  4. to increase donations and research pool (public interest)

  5. to reduce opposition/opposition group membership to LE research/production (public opposition)

  6. to align corporate interests towards le product production (production interest)

  7. to build economy of scale through increased demand (production means)

  8. to cause lawmaking to side with LE interests (governmental interest)

How about if they are less than 8? Or more than 8?

... Below, you can suggest any type of list as long as it has eight items.

e.g.

"The 8 most promising initiatives in life extension" ...

some ideas that came to mind:

The 8 most promising initiatives in life extension

1. the Longecity forum and its research initiatives/grants *
2. the SENS and Methuselah foundations and their research programs and advocacy, with activists like Aubrey de Grey *
3. the 'young blood'/'young environment' researches of various groups
4. the genetic approach of Cynthia Kenyon and the biotech startups like the Google Calico
...

* Some may argue that the SENS,Methuselah and the like are more important, but I think an internet forum, i.e. an online meeting place, where the things can be discussed, and the participants can be directly involved in the movement, in its projects, etc. has the potential to be more influental for the cause.

Other possible lists:
-The 8 biggest environmental danger for immortalists/life extensionists
-The 8 deadliest age-related disease and condition

Well, this initiative specifically plays on the affinity of the number 8 with the infinity /hourglass symbol.

If you have great list in mind that doesn't fit we can of course consider it. In any event, if I get proposals I need to know the precise number of items you are planning.

I realize I am a newbie, but I wanted to chime in here
8 reasons why I love LongeCity, and why / how these forums changed me:

I. With the help of fellow longecity-ers, I currently feel better than ever
II. I have more hope for myself, and

iii. wish the same for for those close to me

IV. I have excited a great passion for learning
V. Newbies like me are able to gain perspective on mortality
vi. Navigation is easy; the design is exceptionally fluid, but I thank my lucky stars for this too!
vii. No secrets here; life-changing therapies are made available to all
VIII. (most important of all) Without ever having to experience the sharp, horrifying sting which accompanies the realization of death approaching, this I have (sadly) seen in the countenance of my elders, I have been directed to fight against mortality.

Way to go on this list! I would read more on each of these 8 topics.
