First I would like to mention that I am from Romania - Targu Mures: http://en.wikipedia....iki/Târgu_Mureșa city from Transylvania.

Leaving aside the well know story of Dracula which people say that he originates from Vlad the Impaler: http://en.wikipedia....lad_the_ImpalerI would like to mention that i personally saw a Strigoi in the south of my country in a city near the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iron_Gates_Natural_Park ,back than I had 16 years.

The place that I saw the strigoi was at Sigishoara: http://en.wikipedia....iki/Sighișoara

I would also like to mention that I remember when I was little (somewhere in 1992-1994) that there were live TV shows that were at 4 AM in the morning showing people who tried to film a strigoi in some abandoned streets of a city here in Romania.

We have numerous castles in the S-W of our country which are mentioned to be haunted by this strigoi.

Since all people know what a vampire is I will provide below the links for Strigoi & Jiangshi

Strigoi: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strigoi

Jiangshi: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jiangshi

What I am personally interested is to see if there are any interested people in this subject, also non the less if there are people who have experienced this in other cultures.

Since this forum is about Immortality, I wanted to mention that I have an extracted PDF document regarding vampirism at a datacenter that show the origin of vampirism and how it works, as well as types of vampires which in the end can be reduced to two categories. I've researched and studied this amongst many others.

This said, I'm waiting for posts on this matter.

I am the single yes vote in the poll currently.

This topic interests me in that vampires have been described throughout history in nearly every civilization.

I would like to hear your experience seeing the strigoi.

Being in Transylvania, can you be sure you did not simply see what you were expecting?

This thread is amazing.

I'd be interested in a description of your strigoi sighting.

And a link to the PDF...
