                I've lived about 8 years of my life with pornography addiction without really realising it was a problem, until 4 years ago when I decided to stop. At some point, whether because of the porn or other reasons, I developed anxiety and went through periods of depression. But since trying to stop and realising that it's up to you to make your life better, my life has definitely improved. Anyway to cut to the chase, I relapsed (watched porn again) about 3 weeks ago and in my post-relapse anger / sadness I ordered the components to make Mr Happy's Uridine Stack. In my haste, I just copied what someone else got and I didn't really look into it very much. Here's what I have:


Jarrow 250mg Uridine
Jarrow Choline 

DHA 700mg

Thorne Research Multi-vitamin 


I started taking it around 2 weeks ago but at the time my anxiety was really bad and I was worried it was making it worse, so I stopped after a few days and opted for a magnesium supplement instead, which really helped.


A few days ago I decided to try it again because I'm in a better state of mind. I've been taking 250mg Uridine twice daily, DHA 700 (I need to add EPA), multivitamin and a magnesium supplement. So far it's been good, possibly slightly better focus but I don't know for sure, no adverse side effects. I have a few questions about it though. Firstly, the multivitamin has very high percentages of recommended daily allowances of the vitamins / minerals (e.g. B12 7500%), can this be dangerous? Could you tell me how much of each of the B vitamins it is recommended to take with the stack?


Is it safe to drink alcohol whilst using the stack?


I thought this stack might be useful because of the modulating / normalising of dopamine release after years of abusing porn. Has anyone else used it to help with recovery from addiction?

i would cut the fish oil and go for fish, it supplies protein, vitamin D and selenium in large quantities even within non-pigmented fish which you would not normally associate with health, such as mackerel, halibut, cod and tilapia.  everything which takes you away from food, from your roots and directs your attention toward a pill, toward a supplement, something made in a lab.. that thing is a step toward a brave new world.


the uridine and especially the choline are only gonna make you worse, and as you found out.. something as commonplace as magnesium is leagues apart in terms of efficiency.  no contest.  i would consider adding things like ginkgo, rhodiola, ginseng, bacopa and green tea.  they modulate dopamine bi-directionally (from both sides of the synapse, addressing both deficits and excesses).  as far as regenerating dopamine circuits, a good start is something like grapefruit, blueberry, broccoli, and red onion.  a lot of these things act on serotonin too, and will have a synergistic or allosteric effect on any doctor approved meds you decide to go with


in all likelihood, the porn has little to do with it, especially if it's like every 3 weeks?  you just got depression and anxiety, possibly a few other things.  stick good habits for the most part and you'll be in the clear

               thanks for you're response, I'll definitely take a look at my diet. I haven't eating particularly unhealthy foods, but I have been missing a lot of foods out. I have been doing the uridine stack for just over a week now with no real side effects but I think I will discontinue, why do you say it will make me worse? I feel like a bit of an idiot for buying it all to be honest but I was desperate. 


How much fish do you recommend to eat? Google says 2 portions per week. Does a tin of tuna / mackerel every day or every other day seem okay? Ah okay just read tinned tuna doesn't count. 


When you say 'have a synergistic or allosteric effect on any doctor approved meds you decide to go with', do you mean prescription or the herbs that you mentioned?
