It seems that donating WHOLE blood is good for health, especially for male.

But is platelet donation good or not?

I'm interested too. The main point would be to discard accumulated waste in plasma getting back the white/red blood cells, in case ferritin is in check or not high. Platelet count regenerates faster also., so in paper looks a good idea.

Think so...

Josh Mitteldorf explains rather convincely for whole blood, but this could just as well be said for plasma:

"Blood donation is like exercise or a low-calorie diet or low-dose toxins or radiation: it signals to the body that there is danger, which turns on protective mechanisms that go into high gear and overcompensate.  (There is an evolutionary explanation for the overcompensation.)"
