I am 30 years old, and i am taking about 400 mg/day trans-resveratrol with a trace of emodin for about one year now.
Recently i made a blood-picture and my creatinine-level was relatively high (110) - so i ask myself, whether this has to do something with the resveratrol, or not.
I found the following article, which describes this possible side effect on rats, but at a much higher dose:
http://toxsci.oxford...stract/82/2/614
Most of the adverse events occurred in the rats administered 3000 mg per kilogram body weight per day. These included increased clinical signs of toxicity; reduced final body weights and food consumption; elevated BUN, creatinine, alkaline phosphatase, alanine aminotransferase, total bilirubin, and albumin; reduced hemoglobin, hematocrit, and red cell counts; and increased white cell counts.
Althought my dose is much smaller, i experienced several of these effects: not only elevated creatinine but also reduced hemoglobin and red cell counts (both at the end of range, but still considered ok).
So my question is: Have any of you made a blood-image since you take resveratrol and did some of you also experience these changes? Or might that be a side effect of the emodin in the resveratrol powder?
Thanks for the response in advance
