Dr. Coles was one of the speakers at the 2010 International Imminst Conference in Brussels. He was a leading researcher on supercentenarians and a real supporter of the life extension movement. He was a co-founder of the Gerontology Research Group and the Supercentenarian Research Foundation. Two years ago he got diagnosed with pancreatic cancer (one of the cancers with the lowest survival chances). After a courageous battle for two years, he lost the battle this Wednesday. He had foreseen his end and moved to Arizona to live close to ALCOR, the company that will cryopreserve his body. Dr. Coles arranged for a scientific study to be coupled to his cryopreservation. Sadly the cost of his cryopreservation is currently not yet fully funded. To honor this amazing researcher and activist you can make a donation to his cryopreservation fund.
