Activated charcoal helps greatly with my food intolerances and I'd like to take before each meal. Any negative side effects beside its possible absorption of good nutritients with the bad ones? I'm not too worried about that.

I wouldn't take it daily. Activated charcoal absorbs all sorts of chemicals, including healthy nutrients.

It's more effectively used on a "cleanse" type basis, up to about a week at a time at the most.

If you aren't worried about provoking a serious nutritional deficiency, you should be. The only time I'd consider making an exception would be in the event of a serious, life threatening chemical exposure.

You may be able to find other ways to manage your food intolerance, like I did. It's a big subject, though.
