It seems like every mental condition is treated with Lexapro, Wellbutrin, Vyvanse, Adderall, lamical, depakote, abilify,Trileptal,Paxil,Prozac,etc.. Drugs that everyone has heard of. I was researching a few other drugs that seem to not be mentioned very often and many doctors I’ve spoken with have no idea what they even are when they seem like they could have some really good benefits. A few that come to mind are mirtazepine and agomelatine. Is it just the doctors I’ve spoken to or has anyone else found this to be common that they are very unfamiliar with untraditional medications like this?

Why Dr.’s don’t prescribe these more?

Because they don't have drug reps banging on their door every over day singing the virtues of those old off patent drugs.
