Of course we all know that the media aren't baised (there is a smiley throwing up on another board but I can't find it just now). Anyway I found it amusing that I'm not the only one who has noticed the media bias on supps

Found on Yahoo! News:

SAN DIEGO (Reuters Health) - For patients at high risk of Alzheimer's disease, taking a combination of vitamins E and C plus ibuprofen significantly reduces their risk, results of a longitudinal study suggest.

What do I find fascinating about this?

That Reuters actually distributed a story that did NOT bash supplements in the headline. I would have expected this paragraph near the bottom:

As to what dose of ibuprofen to use, Fotuhi urges caution, since the drug can lead to stomach ulcers. He recommends a dose no higher than 100 milligrams per day.

.. to have resulted in a headline more along the lines of:

Scientist Urges caution with vitamin / Ibuprofen combination for Alzheimer's.

Maybe the editor or reporter is buddies with the guy that actually patented the drug / vitamin / omega 3 combo pill before issuing this "press release" (aka advertisement as news).
