Heya all, looks like some great forums you have here.

I would like to start slowly introducing nootropics into my daily life but I'm not exactly sure where to start. From what I understand it's best to only start taking one at a time. With that in mind as a college student which nootropic do you think would be most effective for me? It seems everyone here seems to really like piracetam and I've been looking into modafinil myself. Is there an even better nootropic to start with that I have looked over?

Thanks.

According to wikipedia Modafinil is a Nootropic Wikipedia

In any case I'm looking for the ability to contrentrate better as well as remain alert all day. Better memory and cognition would be nice too.

Basically whatever will allow me to absorb as much information as possible from my classes as well as allow me to study more effectively and efficiently.

yeah I wouldnt say Modafinil is a Nootropic either. I take adderall and its a stimulant and I wouldnt advice anyone to get on adderall or any other stimulant for that matter. Its doesnt have a long term positive effect on the brain. Its only for helping short term. As a 1+ user of adderall I would defeniatly say that my memory retention specifically short term, and long term as well have not improved and short term has seem to have gotten worse, as seen in my grades. But the reason I wouldnt take adderall or modafinil if i had to do it over again is because they are both found to be habit forming and have negative side effects. The side effects of adderall are terrible you get this breaf period 2 hours at the most that is good for concentration and studying and then you come down and you dont feel up to doing anything except being a cranky really cranky person. I would say go with the piractam and try that one first to start and wait a good 2 to 4 weeks before trying anything else. See what happens and get second opinions of course. Im a newbee and I only no what works for me and I also might add that I havent taken piractam but i have heard good reviews. Look into Hydergine, as well.

Modafinil and Adderall are completely different. Adderall is amphetamine, while Modafinil is not.

I think wikipedia is wrong on nootropics. Nootropics should be free of side effects, while Ampethamine is definetly a pretty dangerous drug and I wouldn't consider it a nootropic. But definitions vary...
