Hi there longecity, why is there no thread on Kefir? It is one of the few things out of everything i've tried that has done good to me. My gut is a lot less shittier in only a few days of drinking kefir, more energy, less sore joints, improved mood.

I have waterkefir grains which i feed water and sucranat and a bit of eggshell. I have milkkefir grains from two different sources that i use together, first fed them pasteurized full fat milk and now raw unpasteurized.
What i want to see in this thread is instructions to get the most potent, healthiest kefirs.

Some questions to get started:

-Does the fermenting of any milk (a1/a2/pasteurized/etc.) with kefirgrains destroy the culprits such as bcm7, galactose, etc.?

-what are the most optimal fruits or other additives to add for first or second fermentation?

-which kefirgrains are the best?

-can we improve kefirgrains? Like somehow add new yeasts and bacteria to them.

Ok, so the lactose gets converted into probiotics by the kefir culture..
