Hi, I wanted to make a subject about this.  Previously I have used a few ginseng products and wasn't aware of very noticeable effects.  Later, I tried a royal jelly and ginseng product, and I definitely felt enhanced mood after taking it.  Specifically, it was Prince of Peace red ginseng and royal jelly.  Nevertheless, I have to take two of them to feel anything.

I found another thread on mind and muscle (not online anymore) where people were taking royal jelly and saying it made them feel enhanced mood, but they were taking like 3g per day which is way beyond the normal instructions.  The opinion that this was due to increased estrogen was brought up, which makes me a little concerned about taking these.

Two vials has 1,000mg ginseng and 700mg royal jelly.

I do this maybe twice a month, never more than twice a week.

So my inquiry is twofold:

1) have you used royal jelly and had improved mood?

2) at which quantities did you take it?

I was recently reading on all the positives of royal jelly and Bee pollen so I just added both to my supplement regimen about a week ago. Too early to notice anything.

Ha,   you'd have to douse yourself in it for fifty years to get a smidgen of estrogen increase or women in need of HRT would be buying it in droves.   Plus I don't think estrogen is notorious for improved moods.     In fact I've only heard that progesterone cream is the calming one (hence got some for my moms)

Royal Jelly increases testosterone. Maybe the reason why you get increased mood.

Remember a guy on a forum a couple of years ago that had his blood tested before and during taking royal jelly and he also confirmed that his testosterone increased by it.

Makes far more sense.   Let me assure you as a woman with the most awful PMS,   estrogen does not make you happy or energize you.   Unless you consider wanting to rip your own fingernails out energized....

This effect was from taking 100 mg down to as low as 25 mg. Can you even buy supplements that low? Mainstream supplement dosages seem to be more like 500-2000 mg.

I was skeptical of this study, but I found another from 2012 with similar results. The testosterone is measured by logarithm for some reason, but I if I understand how it is done it works out to about a 30% increase. This is based on 3,000 mg daily.

[P.S. Any insight into the ingredients of royal jelly that have this effect? I already take propolis.]

Took some this morning, following a 2 year break.

I made this thread years ago:

Royal Jelly deserves way more attention in my opinion. It has remarkable potential as a nootropic, but also a hormonal optimising functional food. Let's start off with it's promising long term safety/Testosterone boosting ability (https://www.ncbi.nlm...pubmed/22995464). Secondly, it may have restorative properties on brain NT's (https://www.ncbi.nlm...pubmed/24882731). It can promote neuritogenesis (https://www.ncbi.nlm...les/PMC2816379/). Increases brain levels of dopamine and tyramine and promotes transition from normal to reproductive workers (https://www.ncbi.nlm...pubmed/25448251). Royal Jelly, can decrease significantly, the prolactin mRNA, we know prolactin is one of the hormones that prevents getting it up again after S** (http://www.tandfonli....1271/bbb.80556). Facilitates mRNA expression of GDNF (https://www.ncbi.nlm...pubmed/15849420). Promotes Astrogenesis (https://www.ncbi.nlm...pubmed/18202519). Anabolic properties in rats (https://www.ncbi.nlm...pubmed/13437543). Antifatigue effect (https://www.ncbi.nlm...pubmed/11922114). All in all, I must say that I have only ever heard and experienced positive motivational/mood enhancement from Royal Jelly. I am not selling this, but love to share with the "open minded" community about the incredibly underrated properties of this benign superfood.

Right now I feel energized, but irritable at the same time.

How much did you take?

Royal Jelly (min. 6% 10-HDA) [a 3:1 freeze-dried concentrate equivalent to 1500 mg of fresh Royal Jelly] 500 mg

What's your experience like with it?
