I've seen people ask about legality and regulatory issues when traveling or ordering from different countries.
I will be traveling to Japan in the next two months and would like to take some of items such as a multivitamin, fishoil, supplements, and nootropics.
Does anyone know where I could find information outlining what I can legally take to Japan?

I have three methods I'm considering:
1) Take these items in my carry-on or
2) Take these items in my checked-in suitcase.
3) Mailing these items ahead of time.

1) I probably won't put them in my carry-on as I don't want to have to waste time explaining things to some security goon.
2)The suitcase might be only a marginally better option but with the added concern of theft introduced.
3) This seems to be the best option as there are plenty of ways of labeling the contents so as to fly under the radar, so to speak. (tips?)

If anyone has any information that deals with any aspect of this topic I would be ever so happy to hear it.

I would like to hear any thoughts also, as I am moving in a few months, and am begining to think that Canadian customs may not just hate me, but everyone. I would declare it, but they'd just bust my ass anyways.

All I can say, and what I should of said before, after given some thought, is to figure out some variables: how long will you be staying for/how much do you have to bring?

I believe, it's a matter of a few pills, and they are of the generic hand-capped variety, then put them in a checked-in suitcase. I would never bring anything of any uncertainty in carry-on luggage, lest it be haggled with said goon (and how I despise that experience).

But if it's the the full-on Liplex experience, that being a winding, whimsical adventure to the Orient with a supple supply of supplements, I would consider purchasing a bad-ass pill planner and loading it up with heaps. You may not be able to bring it all, just "the essentials". Mailing seems reasonable, but hefty and costly, and we shouldn't have to do such things.

I am concerned about this too, my trip will involve a year-long school stay and I'll have to think ahead for large amounts of supplements; shipping seems the only reasonable route to venture. Please take a picture of some well-aged Bonsais for me.

Liplex and Mitkat,

I have an idea. Have you ever swallowed a condom?

Carnosine, Thanks!

Any further information would be greatly appreciated.
Perhaps something a little more official(.gov) is in order...

Gov does not list anywhere. But companies who have had the experience seem to know the deal.

Anyone know how I should declare the contents of my package when mailing to Japan from the US?
