Hi: I recently purchased the Adam multi-vitamin, which contains coral calcium (CC), by Now Foods and recently came across reports discussing concern over high lead content in CC. Anyone else hear anything about this? I think that Adam M.V. is an amazing product for the money and certainly do not want to stop taking it, but lead poisoning is something I certainly don't want to mess with. Luckily its only 165 milligrams and they seem to harvest their coral calcium from land, wierdly enough. Anybody else look into this?? Here are some links describing the process.

Basically looking for someone out there who knows a little about the benefits/dangers of CC. Thanks.

From the heavy metal testing they do, it looks like you would be A-OK.

Coral calcium is an outright scam.

Yes, it is an outright scam. The benefits of coral calcium are the same benefits you would derive from taking any calcium carbonate supplement (the least bioavailable form of calcium). The dangers are related to coral calcium's heavy metal content, as you seem to be aware of.

However, if Now performs adequate heavy metal testing, there is no need to stop using the product.
