Are there any good, cheap probiotics out there that cover a wide range of beneficial bacteria? Is NOW Food's Acidophilus and Bifidus 8 Billion any good? Thanks for the comments.

Theralac is hard to beat. $30 for the first 6 weeks, and then $10/month after that. Works for me.

I have had great results with theralac as well. VERY good quality at a decent price, IMO.

Ha!

Consistency of stools and frequency of movements even when there is lack of fiber, "seemingly" improved immune system (less allergies, colds), etc

My digestive system has improved greatly since taking them, even though I ate plenty of fiber and whatnot beforehand. Between taking these and partaking in a water fast, my quality of life has improved a great deal.

Thats awesome man, where did you get your supply from? Also, Is there any interactions associated with probiotics? I did alot of research on them awhile back, but forgot most of it. Like did you feel weird when you first tried them? I'm about to go on a long trip out of country, and am wondering if i should invest in some before or after i return.

Starting on the probiotics before you go on your trip would be a good idea. I've read too many anecdotal reports of people traveling in a group and the guy taking probiotics is the only one who doesn't get diarrhea. I've never heard of any interactions associated with probiotics.

I second the recommendation for Theralac as a first choice and Nature's Way Primadophilus as a decent, less expensive alternative.

The sponsor at the top of the page, relentless improvement, has it.

No interaction that I know of. No wierd feelings after taking them. I may have had a little bit of gas at first, but I really dont recall.

Yeah, read what Funk posted on the forums about probiotics protecting meat, it is not a bad idea to take them before as well as during, if possible.

NOW is great but only in things that you will take quickly and don't need a freshness seal. Usually I remove NOW caps and put them in a glass container. All this talk of Probiotics and I am the first one to bring up New Chapter? I strongly recommend their Probiotic Immune Support.

It isn't quite as good as Therelac but for the money it is the best thing out there and you can pick it up anywhere, so that saves on shipping.

Would anyone know if carrying Theralac, on a trip, unrefrigerated, could cause it to become placebo?

I've read about this before, and if I remember correctly, you should be able to leave it for a month at room temperature without its potency diminishing too much. A month at room temperature is equivalent to something like 6 months or a year refrigerated, so keep that in mind with regard to expiration.
