I am starting this topic specially for people who are wondering what its like to combine 5HTP with Ginkgo.

In the past, I have tried all sorts of combinations of what was out there to speed up my thinking process and improve memory, some worked just fine and other went down the crapper. I don't like mega doses of anything as my system works best with "less is more".

Over last 6 years my life has been full of chronic and heavy stress, and gradually most of my supplements, specially mind boosting ones, either stopped working or would work partially for an hour or two and then I would slip back into brain fog, weird out of place feeling with a memory response I would like to call a SHIT SHOW.

So 8 weeks ago, i stopped taking everything to reboot my system, except for fish oil, Vitamin C 200 mg and a Multivitamin.

Around 4 weeks ago, it just dawned on me that I am more serotonin driven so let me try 5HTP with fish oil, Vitamin C and a Multivitamin.

I researched 5HTP thoroughly for a few days.

Then I took 50 mg of 5HTP immediately after breakfast with fish oil, Vitamin C and a Multivitamin .

With in half an hour my mind became clear, focused and sharp. Color perception improved (after a very long time).

Felt like the fog was lifted and got a very clean and deep feeling of well being (with a lightness in body and mind).

Memory kept improving gradually as the day progressed. And most of all it stayed that way for the whole day.

My sleep was also very deep and refreshing that night.

It has been 4 weeks now and i have slowly started to add (in small amounts) other brain boosting stuff like GINKGO, Bacopa, Alpha GPC etc.

Best part is that its actually holding and getting better each day.

For me 5HTP was the missing link (because I did try acetylcholine and dopamine boosting supplements and they failed too).

The best combo I have found that is continuously working for me with out fail, is Fish Oil Vitamin C, Tyrosine and 5HTP (and sometimes a Multivitamin).

I can add ginkgo and other stuff when required but then I have to increase  5HTP and it all works great and holds like cement.

Bottom line is that ginkgo works great with 5HTP (if you take 60 mg Ginkgo then add 30 mg or more 5HTP with it - Do trial n error with your unique chemistry). Same for Tyrosine.

Anything that increases dopamine will deplete serotonin gradually over a period of time AND VICE VERSA. So keep an eye out.

Hope that is helpful for people who are searching for info on Ginkgo+5HTP combo.  :)
