Okay, so I finally sat down and watched this DVD on the dangers of aspartame. It taught me a few things:

1. Bad genetics are a bitch.
2. Apparently, creatine can kill you.
3. Aspartame kills, and then the widows are imprisoned for 20 years.
4. Two-thirds of scientists are overweight.
5. Donald Rumsfeld is the love-child of Lucifer and Hitler.

I joke, but overall I felt the DVD was about 2.5/5. It definately was not on par (from a film perspective) with your better documentaries. It was mostly circumstantial reports from people who feel that their horrible situations are due to aspartame. There was also a look into all the typical things that go along with our society: the shady deals made outside of committees, pay raises, position changes, etc. There was a little scientific evidence, but nothing damning. I've already read retorts against these particular claims, and since I'm not a biochemist, I'm not knowledgeable enough to rationally lean one way or the other. It's worth your time to watch it, but it probably isn't strong enough to change your view on the stuff....unless Super Size Me suddenly made you realize that McDonalds isn't good for you.

Did they give references for this?

It's just a reference to a statement made by the woman that was imprisoned for her husband's murder. Apparently he started on creatine the day before he died, she felt that it added to the aspartame and helped cause his death. I don't quite buy it.

I agree. The female in question probably didn't mention the cyonide she put in his porridge the day before he died.
