No, your eyes are not deceiving you...

Dr. Ben Goertzel's presentation on Artificial Intelligence and Human Immortality at the Life Extension Conference is now available at the following locations:

H.264 Quicktime format - 140mb
Windows Media - 159mb
.MP3 - 20mb - Audio only

It is recommended that you choose to "Save" the files rather than stream them online, as they are rather large.

Also available for streaming online on Google Video.

If you have any problems viewing the videos, please let me know.

I apologize for my disappearance over the last few months. I hope to have some more videos out very soon, but I thought Goertzel's talk was particularly relevant in light of the upcoming AI summit.

Nice! I am glad to see more video being made available from the conference. I will add it to the others on Google Video when I get it downloaded. [thumb]

That's a big download...I haven't downloaded a file that big since...I don't remember. So after viewing that, it sounds like the first time we work extensively with artificial intelligence it might be pretty buggy -- and the machine will kind of have to learn on its own how to improve itself. I sure hope the machines don't take over ala Bill Joy's prediction...

When I said "the first time we work extensively" -- I meant -- when we first have AI that is almost as advanced at processing information as we are -- not one-dimensional programs that carry out a single function. I am talking about the advanced machines that we could possibly integrate our bodies into...

I think it is safe to assume in these forums that when talking about AI you mean generalized AI. Obviously specialized AI has been around for 40 or more years, how old are LISP and PROLOG?
