I am trying to convince a friend of mine to give her 2 year old son some EPA/DHA oil. He doesn't have any seafood allergies but doesn't eat it that often either. Somewhere I remember reading a great quote about these long chain fatty acids, and it went something like this:

I think it is a tragedy that puppy food is being supplemented with DHA while formula for human infants lacks this critical nutrient.

Anyone know where this quote came from? Or know of a pediatrician who recommends EPA/DHA for kids?

I have three children I've been giving fish oil to daily. The youngest is 2 1/2 and has been
taking Coromega since she turned 2. I have found taste to be a factor for my kids. They
each take a Coromega a day. It comes in 2 flavors (orange and orange with a hint of chocolate)
and they seem to like it since it's never a struggle to get them to take it.

I've tried that brand also. It comes in small round chewable gel caps.
They weren't fond of the taste. I tried them myself and did not find them
to be very good. Kids are brutally honest about taste. Coromega is very
good and they take it, so I'm happy.
