Oral supplementation of NAD+ is pointless due to the stomach acid breaking it down, as I understand it.

But what about putting pure NAD+ powder into an enteric coated capsule? This will allow the NAD to survive the stomach acid assault and deliver it to the intestines.

Can your body absorb the NAD+ direct from the intestines? Anyone know?

thanks

"Research is clear that NAD+ and it’s precursors are almost entirely degraded to the less effective Nicotinamide (NAM) in the stomach, intestines and liver."

"LIPO NAD+ Complex features our proprietary, powder-based liposomes that contain natural phospholipid molecules to protect ingredients from digestive enzymes and carry them into the bloodstream for targeted systemic delivery."

There is one supplier who is introducing a line of products something like what you mention. Not enteric, but liposomal. The company is ABN, and the have quite some discussion about what you are interested in.

Enteric or acid resistant capsules do protect ingredients through the acidic environment of the stomach, but not through the intestines and past the liver.

They make sense if you are taking NMN and believe a significant portion can utilize the slc transporter in the intestines.

The liposomal products by ABN do sound interesting as they might protect all the way to the bloodstream, at least in theory.  How do we know if they actually work?

Quicksilver has been selling a few liposomal NAD+ products for at least a year now.

Interesting.  The guy behind quicksilver is Dr. Shade, who just published this review of NMN.

The Science Behind NMN–A Stable, Reliable NAD+Activator and Anti-Aging Molecule

I didn't know the liposomes are made of same material as cell membrane or extracellular vesicles.  Or, that adipose tissue actually secretes  EV's loaded with NMN that circulates in blood.   Seems like a much better way to deliver NMN imo.

"Adipose tissue actively secretes extracellular vesicles (EVs) that are enriched with NMN, and can circulate through the plasma. EVs are membrane-derived particles surrounded by a phospholipid bilayer that are released by cells in the human body.22 These EVs not only protect their cargo, they can deposit their payload where needed.23"

The NAD+ lipo product from ABN, now ABS, works great

Or I should say it works great when coupled with DMSO under the tongue, very powerful! Once I started that I never went back to weak, anemic NR or NMN. Only problem is its a bit of a PITA, you have to rub the dmso under your tongue area, the whole area, then place the NAD dose there and hold in mouth for 20 min or so. DMSO doesn't taste amazing exactly. So I was wondering if there is an alternative for the days I don't want to deal with that set up, which is why I posted this question. But I guess not.

what are the thoughts/experiences here on the quicksilver liposomal nmn product?

the delivery vehicle makes sense, and i like that some tmg is included, but there is no research that i am aware of on the efficacy of the product.
