I recently had a mild brain injury and I’ve been using a LED infrared/red light combo bulb to shine on my skull daily to aid recovery. I remember years ago reading that c60 might increase photosensitivity, so I was wondering if the combination of light therapy with ingested c60 might be inducing oxidative stress in my brain. I don’t take the c60Oil the same day I do a light therapy session. For example, if I ingest c60Oil on sunday, I’ll do a led light session on monday, then take the c60Oil again on Tuesday and so on.

I personally contacted SESresearch asking them the same question, and they assured me that it’s probably safe, but I thought I’d get a second opinion from the folks here.

SES knows everything about manufacturing C60, but little about using it. The original paper showed a 90% increase in longevity in rats and claimed it was the amazing antioxidant properties that were responsible. But two papers and one vendor trial since then showed no significant increase in the average lifespan of mice. Also, C60 and light don't mix. Singlet oxygen is generated even with red light due to a multiple photon process.

The actual mechanism of life extension seen in the first paper was missed by the researchers, as they did not think their feeding schedule was important. But it was. See this thread for an explanation.

Thanks a lot for the response. So, do you reckon that I stop using c60 while doing red/NIR light therapy? I’m now quite worried that this combo has been introducing more free radical damage rather than help prevent it after smacking my head.

I think the information regarding light damaging C60 evo concerned light exposure prior to ingestion. I doubt light therapy would have any affect on it after you take it. It is dark down there in the gastrointestinal tract.

For instance, I take it, and then go play golf for 5 hours in the sun. No ill affect.

I don't think you need to refrigerate the Evo c60. It becomes solid.

I don't think it is dangerous to take it and play golf as the emoji demon above says it is. Maybe he/she/they can enlighten us?
