Have you heard of Polydeoxyribonucleotide(PDRN)? What are your thoughts on this and could it be a useful tool in our fight against hair loss?

PDRN works by stimulating the hair follicles and promoting blood flow to the scalp, which can enhance the delivery of nutrients and oxygen to the hair cells. PDRN also activates the adenosine A2A receptor, which can increase the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and fibroblast growth factor (FGF), two factors that are involved in hair growth and regeneration.

Some studies have reported that PDRN scalp treatments can result in clinical improvements in hair density, thickness, and quality in patients with pattern hair loss (PHL) or alopecia areata (AA). For example, one study compared the efficacy of 12 sessions of combined treatment with a 1,927-nm fractionated thulium laser and PDRN injections to that of 12 sessions of mesotherapy and PDRN injections in 16 PHL patients. The results showed that both groups had significant increases in hair counts and thickness, but the laser and PDRN group had greater improvement in hair thickness than the mesotherapy and PDRN group.
