What's the consensus? What's the ideal Alpha-Ketoglutarate regimen and how sensitive are the effects to the quality of the product? Any recommendations?

Much appreciated. :)

I still haven't been able to find an ideal dose; however, I did learn that AKG is rapidly metabolized, so it's necessary to take it in a sustained release form. Also, the evidence supporting its efficacy is more tenuous than I initially thought, but it's also been shown to be safe, so maybe it's worth taking anyway. As it stands, I'm taking 300 mg daily, but it's not a high-priority supplement.

Can you elucidate on why its efficacy is more tenacious than you thought?

My guess is you need high and continuous doses to get rejuvenation effects. Something like a couple of spoons AKG with each cup of water throughout the day.

This is not true. It has been marketed as requiring a sustained released form - but I've used both CaAKG (sustained release) and AAKG (arginine-AKG, fast release) and the reduction on my epigenetic age (measured by methylation markers) were identical for both. I am tracking around 6-7 years under my chronological age.

Now whether this has any bearing on health, is another matter...
