Atlanta college reinstates COVID-19 mask mandate as students return to city

 

A week after classes began, Morris Brown College is once again requiring students and employees to wear face masks on campus.

The small, private Atlanta college announced the mask mandate Sunday in a letter to faculty, staff and students, saying the requirement and other COVID-19 safety protocols will be in place for two weeks. The college cited “reports of positive cases among students in the Atlanta University Center” as the reason for the decision.

Morris Brown President Kevin James told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution in an email Monday that the college has received no reports of cases on its own campus yet. He described the steps as “precautionary measures.”

Agreed, Rutgers just reupped their vaccine mandate for all students on campus.

I've seen some government officials talking about "the triple threat this fall" - Covid, Influenza, and RSV.

 

It really does seem like they may be gearing up for a push to reinstate various mandates going into the fall.

 

There's nothing wrong with being prepared. But, looking at the graphs I'm just not seeing any hint of a significant uptick in covid at this point.

Last year it was a double threat, Covid and Flu, neither vaccine works. Nobody took them, and everything was fine. This year they added RSV. Is there a vaccine for it? Tests for safety? Efficacy? I have not seen anything other than they have a new vax for the new variant, which is "easier to catch and easier to transmit". No info on how that was determined, or how dangerous it is.

Remember the "Kraken" variant we were all supposed to freak out about? Remember the "severe winter of death and disease" that never happened. Public health officials in the US are as dumb as they are unethical. I don't believe anything they say.
