Seeking the end of endlessness
Hoping for rest in restlessness
Praying for life from deathlessness
Where will it end?

Can we find hope beyond tomorrow?
Is there more joy after such sorrow?
Dare we gift hope which we can't borrow?
How may it end?

Is there joy when it's all the same
Day after day in our immortal coil?
How fares your soul in boredom's dull toil?
What can it end?

Are there good reasons to halt the seasons
To bring on life forever in bloom?
Will we learn to be bored, and be ever ignored,
Sitting in perfect, bland gloom?

Or will we ever find something new to our mind,
To tickle our curiosity?
Something so grand, made by God or by hand,
It'll mute time's ferocity?

I hope and I pray that there'll come some day
We can look back at this and laugh -
It may yet seem so wrong that we'd spent so damned long
Worrying over such flimsy chaff...

There will always be challenges to overcome the boredom and hope.
