I take Life-Extension Two-Per-Day multivitamin again, it feels superior to other multis, I particularly like the methylated B-vitamins. I notice better energy and mental clarity from it.

However, there's some corcern that the big amount of vitamin B6 could be problematic as there's speculation high amount of B6 may cause neuropathy?

Should I be concerned with this as there appears to be two forms of B6 in this multi:

Vitamin B6 (as pyridoxine HCl, pyridoxal 5'-phosphate) 75 mg 4,412%

I could of course only take one capsule per day so it would be 37,5 mg of B6.

Take 1 two-per-day LEF daily since many years. And add about 1-3 of their expensive Mix multi tablets. On the ME/CFS forum, there are a few, which don't tolerate even such small, or any amount of pyridoxine. While I always (since 16 years) used in average 170 mg a day, including about half as P-5-P.

The problem of neuropathy from pyridoxine started, when the EU outlawed anything above 25 mg/dose. Therefore, I upped the pyridoxine fraction for the first time above 100 mg/d, exactly 130 mg/d, for one year from an old long expired bottle. Which for the first time caused left-sided neuropathy for me.

Reducing again to the 45 mg/d from LEF multis, and increasing P-5-P to 130 mg/d instead, did gradually improve the neuropathy again. Took more than a year.

Though I usually always follow the advice to increase doses gradually, so that side effects are caught early, in this 1 case I didn't.

https://www.sunday.d...amin-b-komplex/ would provide all B-vitamins in better forms. But their multis don't compare to LEFs.

65mg is pyridoxine HCl, and only 10mg is pyridoxal 5'-phosphate.

They also changed the formula recently, not sure how many changes. But the one I noticed was adding fenugreek, which causes bad body odor and does something to hormones.

Thanks for the replies guys. I think I'll stick to just one capsule a day of this multi, should be on the safer side and it's still a good dose of different vitamins.

Thanks. But where you found this information?

It's not found on my latest Two-per-day ingredients label, while in the past they did specify a half/half composition in their 75 mg two-per-day dose.

Their more expensive Mix label does however specify 100 mg pyridoxin and 5 mg pyridoxal dose per day. However, that ratio hasn't changed in years. And that's why I only take about 2 tabs per day of the Mix, instead of their full 8 tablet dose.

I do also supplement with fenugreek extract for years, but nobody complained yet about changed body odor.

It's on the product page of two-per-day on lifeextension.com. If you scroll down on that page you will find there is a section called "questions and answers"

one of the questions is about the amount of b6, their answer for that question is 65mg pyridoxine hci -10mg p5p
