Hey everyone,
I really need some help or insight from people who might’ve gone through something similar, because I honestly don’t know what’s happening to my brain.

Everything started back in July 2024.
I was taking Piracetam (800mg to 1600mg) along with CDP Choline (250mg) (sometimes Alpha GPC [300mg]).
At first, the combo felt amazing — great focus, creativity, and energy (I’m a music producer).
But after some days, I started noticing mania during the day and deep depression at night.
Despite that, my music creativity felt enhanced (maybe placebo).

Then things started getting worse:

I began tripping over words when speaking.

I couldn’t do simple math or think clearly.

I felt mentally numb and zombie-like.

Around that time, I also went through severe sleep deprivation for about a month (sleeping from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.) along with strong depression.

I tried going back to Piracetam a few times because it temporarily restored my creative drive, but each time it ended in mania or depression.
By May 2025, after another heavy depressive episode, I decided to quit it completely.

Since then (months later), I’ve been dealing with complete anhedonia —
no sadness, no happiness, just emotional flatness.
No anxiety (which used to be part of my daily life), but also no motivation, no creativity.
I make constant mistakes when writing or speaking, which never happened before.
Even my English skills have declined (I’m a native Spanish speaker).

Before all this, I had mild chronic depression (dysthymia), but I could still function, work, and create.
Throughout my life I’ve tried several antidepressants:

  • Venlafaxine (3+ years)
  • Bupropion, Vortioxetine, Fluoxetine, Escitalopram, Desvenlafaxine (each less than 2 months) Also methylphenidate and modafinil for ADHD-like or Asperger symptoms (not fully diagnosed).

Since August 2025, I haven’t touched Piracetam again (last time I tried for 3 days, depression came back hard). Right now I only take:

  • Caffeine + L-Theanine
  • Omega-3
  • B-Complex
  • Probiotics

But I still feel emotionally flat, uncreative, and cognitively slower than before.
If anyone has experienced something similar — whether from Piracetam, choline, sleep deprivation, or severe depression — and managed to recover, please share your experience.
I just need to know there’s hope that the brain can heal from this.
