Could someone explain what is "irreversible" in a irreversible and selective MAO-B inhibitor.

It means it's effects last some time after you stop taking it. For example MAO inhibition of deprenyl lasts 2-3 weeks after you stop taking it.

I am getting closer to understanding. So what does a "MAO inhibition of Deprenyl" mean? Does it mean that there is an inhibition of MAO and what are those implications or is there an inhibition of the effects of the Deprenyl? The reason I am so interested is that I was taking 5mg of Selegiline HCI 3 times a weeks for a month or so along with the a number of the 'cetam nootropics. I found myself in a rather agitated mental state so I stopped taking the nootropics a few weeks ago and last week stopped the Deprenyl. I still feel the same and I am concerned it has to due with some residual effect of the drugs.

Deprenyl destroys MAO enzyme (MAO destroys neurotransmiters). After you stop taking Deprenyl it takes 2-3 weeks before this enzyme is fully restored. Depending on dose MAO is only partialy destroyed. Subjective effects depend on dosing and what you expect of it. For depression you need to take it daily because even at 10mg daily not all enzyme it is destroyed. In 60ties when they just discovered deprenyl they used doses as high as 60mg. It's considered that deprenyl loose it's selectivity to MAO-B at doses above 10mg and becomes both MAO-A and MAO-B inhibitor.

It there weren't for side effects you could take 100mg dose of deprenyl once every 3 weeks, but because of side effects at such high dose you need to take smaller dose daily.

My dose seems rather small, 5mg 3 days a week. My negative effect is/was a hyper-anxiety paranoid feeling. Earlier in the year I was taking the liquid form in even a smaler dose and felt little or no effect. I selected D as the culprit because I had stopped all other nootropics earlier and everything else I take, I have been taking for years. So it is possible that my symptoms are not related to the D but something else or the D combined with something else. I started taking 5HTP the other day hoping that things will calm down a bit. Thanks for taking the time to answer.

Just as a note (though it's in my signature) I'm not a doctor and all say is just my personal point of view.

Some did report effects like yours, hyperactivity, anxiety etc. It seems to be small percentage but still present. Strange thing is that in my readings about deprenyl i didn't find any notes about such effects.
All i can assume is that dopamine could be your dominant neurotransmiter and boosting it even a little with deprenyl leads to effects like yours. In your case i'd stop deprenyl all together, i don't think you'll benefit from it.
On the other side, some drugs and nootropics can potentiate the effects. Specially Modafinil, it creates anxiety in combo with deprenyl. Also choline sources like AGPC, choline, dmae, centrophenoxine could lead to this.

Be careful with deprenyl man.

I experienced some similar effects and my wife had difficulty walking for some time due to the aphrodisiac qualities. [lol]

although It was probably a bad move to start with for me, as I lift weights and listen to violent music while doing so in order to boost T levels to unheard of levels. [:o]
The deprenyl was just fuel for the fire, and my insatiable sexual appetitie.
