I honestly do not know if I have elevated levels of histamine (histadlic) , but I certainly exhibit virtually every symptom. I recently started taking 3 grams of vitamin C daily and have noticed various improvements: I do not fatigue as easily, my mind feels clearer, I feel calmer, fewer tension headaches, and I am actually able to sit down for long periods of time and do work. Vitamin C, coupled with fish oil and small levels of zinc,, has seemed to provide a tangible effect that was lacking from other products. I recently cut back to only 1 NOW FOOD ADAM MULTIVITAMIN due to the folate, which may exacerbate histamine problems. How realistic of a fear is this? Do you think the vitamin C and zinc (about 20 mg daily) would override that folate?

Personally I don't tend to buy the histadelic/histapenic theory very much, there are just too many gaps in its reasoning and too many unanswered questions which the theory can't answer for me, IMO. But it may well be true also, I just don't believe what doesn't make sense, easy as that. I think a lot of people just suffer from adrenal fatigue or have some problem with their adrenal glands as today's life is substantially stressful which cause the adrenal glands to get off a bit from their optimal functioning, not meaning they are seriously damaged or anything that. In that case vitamin C does its magic. For me zinc does very little improving energy levels and anxiety (maybe only good for the skin), but the getting easily tired part is significantly improved by vitamin C as vitamin C is involved in catecholamine synthesis.

Though whether histadelia is a true disease or not some people due tend to be more allergic to things. I think this is a genetic variation first and foremost but can also be atributed to naturaly high level of histamine. For instance;I get allergies when i sleep at night and wake up in the morning so im obviosly allergic to something in my pillows or sleep sheilds. When i take a high dose of of vitamin C i tend to get a lower allergic responses throughout the day and this is especially prevelant in my sleeping conditions. Much less itchy eyes, less morning fatigue, less inflammed throat and so on. So i think theres definantly a high histamine element to it. The whole folate thing though has very little evedince behind it. I think i remember reading they had one very small test that had some correlation between folate and "histadelia" but it was very weak
