Is there really something to moving lymph and accelerating the onset of illness?

Touché.

Did you drink a lot of water after the massage? Should have been suggested by your therapist.

You might be overdue for a few seances of Manual Lymph Drainage.

I did drink a lot of water after the massage and yeah, it was suggested. I have what's going around but I've been exposed to it for awhile and thought I was safe then right after that massage, I got sick fast.

No, done manually by a therapist.

It is not a massage "per se", rather a simple technique repeated enough times following the flow of lymph back to the core.

The therapist makes his hands as light as a paper sheet - 35-70g or so, they say, and uses slow and controlled movements from hand to heart, etc, and uses techniques on the main ganglions(sp?) along the way (200 around the body).

This kind of "massage" is immensely relaxing, and you really get the feeling of a health boost, you might even get ulceres or cold sores back etc because of the manual cleansing action.

Just a way to make sure the lymphatic system has an easy times flowing around nutrients and immune cells, while bringing back the crap to the exit ways.

Weird, but effective.

Same idea as those skin brushes that I have heard about? Brush your skin toward the direction of your heart for detox?

Have there been any studies on what is happening and how effective it is?
