Robots could demand legal rights.

I read about this and the only conclusion I drew at the end of it is that our government has a profound ability to waste money.

I should say, not just robots, but ideas/information themselves/itself should've rights. Once we've the computational resources for photorealistic human intellect equivalent virtual entities. Their rights should be protected, and extended beyond those we as humans presently have.
