My mum started going to a naturopath a few months ago, and I was shown the supps they've got her on. I can't say I'm terribly impressed with one of them.

A.C.E.S+ZINC
http://cyto-matrix.com/p_aces_zinc.php (does not show product info, hooray)

Vit C (ascorbic acid)...................500mg
Beta-carotene..........................7000 IU
Vit E (d-alpha tocopheryl acetate...160 IU
Selenium citrate.......................50 mcg
Zin citrate................................10 mg

1 capsule, 2x a day with meals. This company looks to be direct-to-professionals sales, and pretty up on purity, which makes me wonder why they're using that form of vit e....

________

Also, she's been started on Sterol 117 by Celt Naturals, $62.99 CDN for 60 CAPS.

This product looks decent, however very expensive.

1 capsule once a day.

So can anyone give cheaper, or in the case of the A.C.E.S+ZINC, better alternatives?

For the ACE product, why not just a decent multi instead?

On the Sterol 117 product, do you know her exact reason for taking it?

She's taking the 117 as "plant sterols to modulate the immune system", so says the naturopath's notes I'm parusing...she had Guillain-Barré syndrome as a teen, and it has affected her immune and nervous system (as I understand it). I don't know...she also is wrapped up in a lot of stress, an incredibly sensitive stomach and has trouble taking pills.

Good question. My older brother just got told by the owner of a vitamin shop that AOR "stuff" is "too expensive", and then he sold him Japanese chlorella in a silver bag I would never of bought. I might live in the twilight zone.

Seriously though...
