I need dopamine help again

I would like to start off by saying that it feels great to be back on Imminst. I still read through posts from time to time but I havent posted in a while. Is there anything that can increase dopamine levels without building tolerance or is there a couple great things that can be cycled on and off to avoid tolerance? I dont want a quick fix, I want something I can take year round. Please help, I feel really shy and fearful on a constant basis.

I don't expect that you can take anything significant daily without some form of downregulation in the long-term. Although, you might want to check out Lyle McDonald's book Bromocriptine. Here are some older articles that you might be interested in as well:

I have low dopamine levels from my b6 dependency.

I take DLPA and find this amino works better for me than tryosine. I also use Mucuna which is a great adjunct to the amino acids.

Tyrosine or DLPA are not something you should be supplementing on your own. You really need to start with the aminos that help with inhibitory neuros first. Then you add the aminos that help increase the exictotory nuero. Not doing it this way can effect the results you get. Some people have the experience of feeling agitated from tyrosine for example. That agitation, I think, is because the person is not getting the right inhibitory neuros up to good levels too.

Taking either tyrosine or DLPA will have the effect of lowering your serotonin levels. So there is a balancing act of supplementing the dopamine aminos during the day and the tryptophan at night. This is one consideration when trying to change your neuro or just your catecholamines.

You also need the proper nutrition to make sure that the amino acids can function.

Barry and Arnold Fox have a book out about how DLPA can help with pain, inflammation and depression. You might consider getting that to see more about his process.
