Thanks for the input on the MLM topic of mine.

Further question to get me started to better health.

I am working full time but also doing post grad work so I don't have a lot of play money at the moment. I was thinking of these 3 supplements as choices for a basic multi mix supplement for my health.

1) LEF LIfe Extension (I found it at a good price at the link provided, comparable to the vitamin shoppe price)

http://www.healthmeg...105_aff1574.htm

2) Vitamin Shoppe Life Essentials Multi (Seems to be similar but without as much berries?? This is also assuming the quality is similar)

http://www.vitaminsh....jsp?id=VS-1713

3) NSI Synergy Multi Vitamin Ver. 10 (For the price it seems like a good deal. Someone on another message board mentioned NSI does well on the consumer lab research for whats in the products)

http://www.vitacost....amin-Version-10

Again, thank you for any input provided. Greatly appreciated.

Jeff C

The LEF multi is the highest quality of the ones you mentioned. Better brand reputation and better forms of vitamins and minerals (and likely the herbs as well).

I'm not so sure LEF Mix is all that superior to NSI Synergy formulations. NSI also appears to have very high quality ingredients. I'm not as familiar with Vitamin Shoppe's product. You ought to take a look at AOR Orthocore, also, IMO.

A very good product at a reasonable cost

I would hardly call these "budget minded". Aren't these probably "anti-budget minded"?

Now Adam is good for only $9 a month.

I don't think it's possible to find a quality multi-vitamin/mineral supplement for $9 per month.

I'd go with Ortho Core. Can't miss.

For anyone concerned about niacinamide's Sir2 inhibiting effect as mentioned in some recent threads. Check out NOW's latest announcement below. Ortho Core contains it as well. I don't know if the amount in these multi's is significant enough to fret over; for anyone taking resveratrol that is.

Here's NOW's Feb announcement. I'm pretty certain they were responding to Consumer Lab's report:

http://www.nowfoods....em_id=92633&F=1
The report also stated our product exceeded the upper limit for niacin, which can cause “ flushing “ or redness of skin color. NOW® Adam contains only flush-free forms called niacinamide (nicotinamide) and inositol hexanicotinate niacinamide. These forms do not cause flushing making the upper limit for niacin irrelevant.

What was the concensus on niacinamide? I'm not sure if its something we should avoiding or what.

Not sure there is a clear consensus, at least for human oral supplementation. In cells, niacinamide appears to inhibit SIRT1 (opposite effect that resveratrol exhibits), and thus may shorten lifespan. Although what occurs in in vitro assays doesn't always reflect the outcome of in vivo usage, it might be best to avoid supplementing with niacinamide, at least until more is understood about its effects on human metabolism and gene activation, etc.

The NOW Adam contains too much vitamin E, Beta-Carotene, and Manganese in my opinion but everything else in it looks pretty good

Ortho-Core just has inositol hexanicotinate, which breaks down into nicotinic acid in the body.

Adam has inositol hexanicotinate and niacinamide.

I appreciate the correction Krillin and am bumping it in case it was missed.

Thank you everyone for your responses.

From further reads of the posts on this forum I was wondering what are your thoughts on combining the use of AOR Orhto Core and Network Synergy on one day and another day the Lef Essential Mix. However I would not use full dosages of both formulas to keep price down? Would it be a good strategy to use the best of both worlds or stick with one?

Thanks again.

Jeff C
