Hey guys,

I wanted to buy some ALCAR and R-ALA and it looks like I can buy them from Bulk Nutrition. I had a couple of questions though.

1. I wanted to buy the ALCAR listed here:
http://www.bulknutri...roducts_id=1186
Do I need a scale any other equipment to accurately measure out 500mg doses?

2. I wanted to buy the R-ALA but it looks like Bulk only sells regular ALA. Anyone know a good place that sells R-ALA in bulk? I only found this ALA on Bulk:
http://www.bulknutri...?products_id=91

I went with Na-RALA from here:

http://customnutriti...der-p-1141.html

because of concerns about stability. (It also dissolves quite well in water.)

I use the same exact ALCAR. I usually take 2 1/8 (1/4) teaspoons 3 times a day. Each quarter teaspoon weighs approximately 570mg. The powder is not easily packed down so you won't necessarily need a scale.

I use this http://www.bulknutri...?products_id=91 for my ALA. I take two 300mg caps (total 600mg) a day. This cost $20 for 3 months of ALA this way.

Thanks for the info guys.

luv: Are you not concerned about taking R-ALA rather than ALA? I am a total noob here but I thought there was some issue with the S-enantiomer? Does that combo from Bulk work well for you luv? Thanks.

I don't think there is anything wrong with ALA. It is cheaper, and as far as I am concerned, it is just as good.

You will have to read over the literature on the subject to come to your own conclusion.

All is currently working well with my regimen.

As opposed to ALA which does have nootropic properties? Please elaborate.

About question 1 -

I have made mistakes measuring using teaspoons. Even after I have had my coffee. Memory fades over time, fewer errors if you concentrate on doing it right once a month, rather than every morning. Plus you can bag the capsules and spread your intake thru the day, that is convenient. With a gram scale and capsule machine you can load your capsules quickly and accurately.

Here's a link to a terrific 300 gram electronic scale with accuracy to .1 of a gram. if you are filling only 24 capsules that is a tiny error. Push a button and the scale zeroes to adjust for whatever you are using to hold the powder. This price is less than $9.

And for filling the capsule here is a handy, easy to use, quick capsule filling machine(About $15).

About question 1-

Link to 25 grams of na-rala
