I'm aware that the later is merely a component of the former.

My question is in regards to purchasing.

Wouldn't it be cheaper just to get the Theanine?

What else do the Green Tea caps contain?

How much Theanine in each cap?

There are much more important compounds in green tea than theanine, especially EGCG.

theanine's pretty expensive

but if you don't like fluoride, like me, there could be reasons to go for the plain L-theanine.

I take both green tea supplements and l-theanine. I don't think there is enough l-theanine in the average green tea to give enough relaxation if that is what you are after.
