I'm wondering about the Blackout's effects on the Cryonics Institute, which is near Detroit. Until the power comes back online, the airport and most businesses are closed, including presumably the ones which make liquid nitrogen.

So if a CI member deanimates well away from Michigan over the next day or so, not only might she not get flown to Detroit in a timely manner, but even if she did, CI might not have enough dry ice and LN on hand to perform a suspension.

I've been trying to draw attention to this problem before: Our civilization is entering an era where keeping the electricity online is going to become increasingly difficult. This recurrent crisis threatens all visions and fantasies about Transhumans, Immortals, Singularities and resuscitations from cryonic suspension.
